Dr. Dan Benishek (MI-01) today released the following statement after voting in support of the "Intelligence Authorization Act" (H.R. 5743):

"This measure ensures that America's intelligence capabilities will remain the best in the world. The last decade has taught us that we must remain watchful against the threat of international terrorism. The Intelligence Authorization Act gives our law enforcement and intelligence officers the tools and resources they need to keep this country safe.

I want to thank Chairman Mike Rogers for his leadership and efforts with this legislation. Through a lot of hard work and bipartisan agreements, the committee has produced a final product that uses taxpayer dollars responsibly while ensuring that Northern Michiganders and all Americans are fully protected from all known and potential threats to our national security."
