Statement

Date: April 20, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released the following statement marking the second anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico.

"Two years ago, eleven men died in the Deepwater Horizon explosion. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families on this difficult day.

"Today, we also remember the thousands of people who have worked to repair the damage done to our economy and our environment by this terrible accident. Though much progress has been made, more work must still be done. Most notably, Congress must continue to push the RESTORE Act until it is signed into law.

"The people of Louisiana have faced difficult challenges before, we have always overcome. Our future is bright."
