In the preamble to the Constitution, a primary reason for establishing our government is "for the common defense" of the country. It is incumbent upon government to keep our military as strong and as ready as possible. To seek spending cuts through draconian budget cuts in military spending is not only counter to the purpose of our government and our Constitution, but increasingly risky in an ever more dangerous world.

The present administration has announced a cut of $487 billion in the Pentagon's spending. President Obama is firing 80,000 troops and cutting healthcare benefits for both active and retired military personal. He's going in the wrong direction.
