I support Stem Cell Research and the benefits that will be provided to all Americans who live with crippling diseases.

"Stem cells show potential for many different areas of health and medical research, and studying them can help us understand how they transform into the dazzling array of specialized cells that make us what we are. Some of the most serious medical conditions, such as cancer and birth defects, are caused by problems that occur somewhere in this process. A better understanding of normal cell development will allow us to understand and perhaps correct the errors that cause these medical conditions."

Stem Cells

Stem Cell research has great potential to cure many aliments, including neurological disorders, in our society. I understand the argument against stem cell research, yet, if done with caution, respect and under government guidelines that set out clear and substantial rules, stem cell research may vastly improve the health and well-being of our citizens.

According to US News and World Report, stem cell research might find cures for the following:

Spinal cord injury

Diabetes

Heart disease

Parkinson's disease

Alzheimer's disease

Lou Gehrig's disease

Lung diseases

Arthritis

Sickle cell anemia

Organ failure

Diabetes

AIDS

Blindness
