Congressman Peter DeFazio is turning to a Eugene software company to find what will help make other businesses in our area grow.

He visited Palo Alto Software, in Eugene Wednesday.

The company provides tools, content and software for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Palo Alto managers says they've learned a lot about business in this roller coaster economy.

And today Defazio says he learned something from them.

"I had never met anyone who had been attacked by a patent troll and they had money extorted from them for simple processes and that's got to get fixed," explains Representative Peter DeFazio.

"We worked and managed and as software developers would say ate our own dog food in planning and managing the business realizing the economy was really going to effect us and how were we going to react to that so we didn't have to lay people off," adds Sabrina Parsons CEO of Palo Alto Software.

The congressman also visited with other business professionals in the community to find out what can be done to help with job growth.
