Location: Billings, MT
Issues: Environment

Montana's senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus announced today at the Montana Energy 2012 Expo in Billings, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson has agreed to visit Montana's oilfields at his request.

In a letter to Jackson last fall, Baucus specifically asked Jackson to meet with oilfield workers in Eastern Montana to gain a better understanding of how regulations are impacting the state's energy sector.

"It's important for Montanans to provide input on the regulations that directly affect their livelihoods and our state's economy. I'm pleased Lisa Jackson has agreed to visit Montana's oil fields and I'm confident that this will help us all work together to make sure Montana can fuel the world while supporting energy jobs at home," Baucus said.

Baucus will spend some time on an oil rig tomorrow, as part of his Bakken Infrastructure & Energy Jobs Tour, where he will announce the latest breakthroughs in his call to the White House to unleash every appropriate resource to assist with the infrastructure needs of Montana communities most impacted by the energy boom in the Bakken.
