The Armed Forces are the core of our national defense.

We need the best people. We need to provide them the best equipment & training. We need to give them the respect they deserve. We need to be very careful about how we spend defense dollars -- every dollar wasted means less ammunition, fewer weapons or less pay for the men and women who paint a target on their chests so we sleep safe in our beds.

We also need complete and accurate intelligence. We know they are out there -- people who hate us and want to hurt us. We need to know who they are, where they are and what they are planning. Additionally, our natural resources are also strategic national defense assets. We need to guard them and use them to our best advantage.
