Two Years of Failure

Statement

Date: March 23, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Ben Quayle released the following statement on the second anniversary of Obamacare's signing:

"Nancy Pelosi once said we would have to pass Obamacare so we could find out what is in it. Well, two years later we know, and it isn't pretty. Healthcare premiums are rising at nearly double the rate they were before the legislation was passed. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that 27 million Americans will still be uninsured by 2022 and that 20 million people will lose their employer based healthcare coverage because of Obamacare. So much for the President's promise that you can keep your plan if you like it.

"Obamacare is filled with unconstitutional mandates and provisions that confer arbitrary power, raise costs, cut benefits, harm access and restrict choice. It has got to go and I will fight for its full repeal. In the two years since this bill was signed, the American people have had their fears confirmed. Obamacare is simply bad medicine."
