As an entrepreneur and former Treasurer of Maricopa County, I understand just how critical tax decisions are in the lives of Arizona families. For too long our tax code has become a patchwork of temporary policies which create uncertainty and stifle investment. Recent estimates have shown that American businesses are sitting on nearly $2 trillion in cash and are unwilling to spend it until the current economic policies are better understood.

Meanwhile, in 2010 American families were subjected to an unnecessary waiting game about the future of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. While these policies were extended temporarily, we simply cannot expect our economy to grow again until Congress provides greater clarity about future tax policy. The success of our economy is directly tied to promoting pro-growth, low tax policies that allow individuals, not the government to decide how to best spend their money.

I will oppose any tax increases and will fight to ensure that your tax burden remains low. I also believe we can promote economic growth by reducing individual and corporate capital gains taxes and eliminating the Alternative Minimum Tax and Death Tax.
