Statement

This week the House has passed the Middle Class Tax Relief & Job Creation Act, which extends the payroll tax cut, reforms the unemployment benefits system in a way that helps those out of work AND protects social security and would create and protect hundreds of thousands of American jobs. We must now wait while Senator Reid plays political games with this important legislation.

Additionally, the House will vote on the National Defense Authorization Act this week, as well as an appropriations "megabus."

We are also scheduled to vote on three bills I have cosponsored:

The Fallen Heroes of 9/11 Act (HR 3241)

The Iran Threat Reduction Act (HR1905)

The Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Reform and Modernization Act (HR2105)
