Rep. Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 1633, the Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act:

"The proposal to regulate farm dust is one of the most absurd ideas to come out of the EPA in a long time," Cole said. "Oklahoma's farmers and ranchers are responsible stewards of their land. We don't need the federal government coming in and enforcing excessive regulations that will do nothing but raise costs and hurt productivity. This is one more example of the regulatory overreach by the Obama administration that is killing job creation.

"It is very disappointing that the White House is threatening to veto this commonsense policy. Congress should certainly stand with farmers and override any veto."

Cole is a co-sponsor of the bill, which passed the House of Representatives on Thursday.
