Statement on November Jobs Report

Statement

Date: Dec. 2, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) issued the following statement on the U.S. Department of Labor's November jobs report:

"Today's unemployment report brings some welcome news as American families head into the holiday season. An unemployment rate of 8.6 percent is still unacceptably high making November the 34th straight month where the jobless rate has been 8 percent or higher.

"As we close out 2011 it is time for both parties in Washington to break their gridlock and work together in a bipartisan capacity to pass measures that will spur job creation and lead to a stronger economy. Improving the economic conditions for small businesses to expand has broad, bipartisan support. Let's get it done. I can think of no better gift to the American people than progress in this regard."
