Victory for Jobs in Colorado's Mountain Communities

Those of us who live in Colorado year-round know that opportunity for outdoor recreation does not end with the last snowflake. But ski areas operating on public lands have faced difficult regulatory hurdles, limiting their ability to permit summertime activities like mountain biking, ropes courses and concerts. I've been working on a fix that's been five years coming. My bill - which unanimously passed the Senate last week and is now headed to the president for his signature - reduces federal regulations that prevented these types of outdoor activities. This simple change will help create jobs in Colorado and at ski areas across the country, and it won't cost to taxpayers a single cent. Moreover, expanded summertime activities mean that kids will have more reasons to get outdoors year-round, which keeps them healthier.
