Hastings Recognizes the Beginning of Rosh Hashanah

Today, Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-Miramar) made the following statement in recognition of Rosh Hashanah, which begins at sundown tonight:

"As Rosh Hashanah begins, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to my friends throughout the Jewish community. This is a time for reflection and hope for the upcoming year, and I wish everyone marking the Rosh Hashanah holiday, as well as all Americans, a year of health, prosperity, and happiness. May we all take this opportunity to reflect on the challenges we as a nation have overcome and those we still face. Though we are a nation diverse in belief and culture, together, we can unite for a stronger America and a better future for our children. Shana Tova."

Congressman Alcee L. Hastings serves as Senior Member of the House Rules Committee, Ranking Democratic Member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and Democratic Chairman of the Florida Delegation.
