Congressman Paul Tonko released the following statement after Governor Cuomo made history by signing same-sex marriage into law in New York State:

"I applaud the members of the Assembly, the Senate, and Governor Cuomo for making the dream of marriage equality a reality for so many New Yorkers. Marriage is about love, respect, and commitment, and it's long overdue that we recognize that all of our citizens have the right to make that choice. Marriage equality is the civil rights issue of our time, and I am proud of this historic outcome."
