Capito Statement On Administration's Decision To Release 30 Million Barrels Of Oil Reserves

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., member of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT), responded to the administration's announcement that it will release 30 million barrels of oil reserves.

"We have the resources right here in America--oil, coal, and natural gas--to power our nation, decrease energy costs and create jobs. The President, however, insists on tapping into strategic emergency oil reserves instead of developing our own resources. Even more, the President wants Brazil to increase their oil supply so we can be their best customers. That approach to energy policy is abhorrent to economic growth and it needs to stop," stated Capito.
