Fleischmann Co-Sponsors "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act"

Press Release

Date: May 5, 2011
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Abortion

Congressman Chuck Fleischmann co-sponsored, and voted for, the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act", which passed the House today.

"Today was a great day for all human life. It was a day we stood up and said that all life has intrinsic worth and value -- from conception until the grave. It is our belief in this distinct value that defines good and evil. A belief that every human being, no matter how young or old, has the right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' sets us at the forefront of human rights, and helps make us that shining city on a hill," Fleischmann said.

"I was honored to co-sponsor, and help pass, this legislation that stands for human life. Tax dollars should not be used to pay for abortions, and today we took a giant step in the right direction. I urge members of the Senate to take the same step, and stand for all human life."

The "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act" prevents taxpayers' funds from being used for abortion-related costs.
