Congressman Robert Hurt (R) made a few stops in the Fifth District Tuesday afternoon. Hurt spoke at the Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce's Freshman Forum.
The congressman is using this as an opportunity to hear from constituents and talk about what's going on in Washington.
Hurt stated, "The first thing we have got to do is get our financial house in order. We have got to attack this deficit, its 1.6 trillion dollars. We are borrowing 40 cents of every dollar we spend in Washington D.C., that's got to stop. We've got to get our debt under control."
Hurt also stopped by his Charlottesville district office on Berkmar Circle to meet with voters.
