Bachmann Introduces Legislation to Prevent TRICARE Increases

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) issued the following statement today, as she introduced the Military Health Care Affordability Act:

"TRICARE provides vital health care coverage for the brave men and women of our U.S. military. Since it was established in 1994 there has never been an increase in TRICARE enrollment fees. This bill is meant to prevent the fee increases for our veterans that have been proposed by President Obama.

"The President has talked a great deal about the rising cost of health care, but his ObamaCare legislation has only served to drive costs even higher. Now he wants to make health care more expensive for our military. My legislation would freeze TRICARE fees for at least three years, giving Congress and the Administration plenty of time to cut government spending in other areas, and not on the backs of our veterans."
