We Need to Listen to the American People

"For the third time in as many months, the House has once again passed a Continuing Resolution designed to reduce the size of the federal government. These measures are the result of the Democrats' failure to pass a single appropriations bill last year. Although challenging, it has allowed us an opportunity to put America on a path to fiscal prosperity. Today's CR cuts an additional $6 billion from the President's budget and keeps us on track to save taxpayers $100 billion this year.

"This vote gives the Senate three more weeks to pass a Continuing Resolution for the rest of the year. It's time the President and Senate Democrats start listening to the American people and get serious about cutting spending. Mississippi families sent me here to eliminate deficit spending and pay down the debt, so we can strengthen America's economy and create jobs to protect our children's future. I am fully committed to doing just that."
