The government has decided, at least until a mid-year administrative review, to proceed with a multi-year Air Force computer systems modernization project, U.S. Rep. Mike Turner, R-Centerville, said Friday.
The Expeditionary Combat Support System program, an Air Force-wide project directed by Computer Sciences Corp. in Beavercreek, is intended to install new computers to improve the logistics and supply-chain system.
The contract supports about 500 jobs in the Dayton area, 800 to 1,100 nationwide, officials have said. The ECSS program, projected to cost at least $628 million, is years from completion.
