Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) announced today he visited Ghana as part of a bipartisan fact-finding mission hosted by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, a nonpartisan institution engaged in the study of national and world affairs.

"At a time of unprecedented turmoil in this region of the world, this visit was a unique opportunity to learn about our trade relationship with Ghana and witness firsthand how this previously unstable government recently transitioned to a free democracy," Smith said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the region as we work to protect U.S. foreign policy and economic interests while navigating this volatile period of uprisings across the region."
