Rep. Todd Young statement on President Obama's FY2012 Budget Proposal

Rep. Todd Young (R-IN) released the following statement after President Obama released details about the FY2012 budget proposal that was sent to Congress this morning:

"For two years we've seen federal budgets that spend and borrow at record levels while failing to create jobs. It's clear the road we're on is not a path to economic stability. That's why I'm disappointed to see President Obama once again propose a budget that spends too much, borrows too much, and even taxes too much. The budget submitted by the President to Congress today represents an additional $13 trillion in debt and relies on $1.6 trillion in tax increases. At a time when businesses are already hesitant to hire new employees, this sends the wrong message entirely."

"Washington must stop the binge spending and begin setting priorities. Congress must address our debt, not add to it. Most importantly, we must ease the fears of employers worried about massive tax increases so that they can start putting Hoosiers back to work. As a member of the Budget Committee, I look forward to working on all of these issues as we begin to chart a new path to American prosperity."
