Congressman Cantor: We Must Remove Onerous Rules and Regulations to Allow the Economy to Grow and Create Jobs

Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) today issued the following statement regarding the resolution before the House instructing committees to review the impact of rules and regulations on job creation and economic growth:

"House Republicans are focused on creating an environment that fosters long-term economic growth. A critical step in that process is removing the onerous regulatory burdens and bureaucratic red tape that bogs down business people small and large, a reality that I continue to hear from employers across the country. We must reduce the uncertainty surrounding the regulatory environment so that companies and businesses have the confidence to grow and create jobs. That is why this resolution will task our committees with conducting oversight, reviewing policies that are already in the pipeline, and examining the kinds of regulations that are actually preventing job growth.

"Each and every action taken by House Republicans is focused directly on growing the economy and creating jobs. This approach stands in stark contrast to the previous majority and the current Administration. For two years, Democrats have increased the size and the scope of the federal government and spent money that we don't have. It's time to remove the cloud of uncertainty and restore an environment for economic prosperity."
