Congressman Jeff Landry (Republican, LA-03) reacted today to the announcement that only 36,000 new jobs created in January:

"While the President is pushing policies that destroy jobs and devastate our economy, the American people are having trouble putting food on their tables," said Landry. "With real unemployment pushing 16%, modest growth will not return us to prosperity. We need to make drastic changes in Washington."

"Unfortunately, I am worried that today's announcement will not alter the President's tax and spend policies nor end his permitorium in the Gulf of Mexico," continued Landry. "So, I will ramp up my efforts to fight for our hard-working people in the oil-and-gas industry and for all our families across the country looking for work."
