Dodd Statement on Attorney General Blumenthal's Election to the U.S. Senate

Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) today issued the following statement on the election of Richard Blumenthal to the United States Senate:

"I congratulate Attorney General Blumenthal on his election. Having known Dick for over 30 years, I have no doubts that he will be an excellent United States Senator and will represent the people and interests of Connecticut with the same vigor and passion that we have seen from him as our Attorney General."

"It has been a great privilege and honor to represent Connecticut for the last 36 years, and I will forever be grateful for this opportunity. Our state is represented in Washington by a powerful and influential delegation that I am confident will continue to deliver for the people of Connecticut. Senator-elect Blumenthal will be a strong addition to our delegation and I look forward to working with him and helping in any way I can as he transitions into his role as our next United States Senator."
