Kendrick Meek on Today's Thwarted Terrorist Attack

Kendrick Meek today issued the following statement in response to reports that cargo plane packages from Yemen to the U.S. contained explosive materials.

"Today's thrwarted terrorist attack with explosive-filled packages mailed to places of worship in the U.S. is a sober reminder that terrorists still attempt to harm the innocent and disrupt our way of life. This is a real threat that requires continued vigilance and heightened awareness of the threats we face. I will continue to monitor this situation closely and trust that the Department of Homeland Security is working hard to keep our country and citizens safe."
