Issue Position

The right to bear arms is codified very clearly in our Constitution as the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights. It is a right our Founding Fathers very deliberately intended for the American people, and has been upheld many times by the Supreme Court to include this year's ruling in June that struck down the unconstitutional restrictions implemented by the District of Columbia (Washington DC).

I support the Constitution and the rights of American citizens that it articulates to include the right to bear arms. Our Constitution and the freedoms it provides have been and continue to be the foundation of this country's success. The 2nd Amendment gives Americans the freedom and right to protect themselves. Without it, the citizenry would be completely dependent on the state, which is completely contrary to everything America stands for.
