Mike Miller is a strong supporter of an excellent, locally-controlled and well funded public education system. He supports the right of parents to direct their children's education, be it a public, private or home school.
Mike is strongly against the current move by OPI to do away with rural K-8 schools. Even if they just become local satellites of K-12 schools in the big(ger) cities, there is grave concern that local control will be lost. This must not be allowed to happen.
He will work to attract and keep quality teachers for Montana's schools. Over 70% of Montana college graduates with a teaching certificate leave Montana to find a better paying job -- fixing this will be one of Mike's top priorities.
