In His Own Words

Statement

Date: Aug. 27, 2010

Dear Supporter,

In September of 2006, my opponent was exploring a run for Mayor of Chicago. During a speech at Operation Push he repeatedly said, "Taxpayers' deserve a better steward of their money." Unfortunately, he has not followed his own words.

During the sixteen years he has represented the 2nd Congressional District and served on the spending committee in Washington the national debt has doubled from $7 trillion to $14 trillion. His sixteen year spending spree will have to be paid by our grandchildren with interest.

Furthermore, against the will of the American people he voted to bailout the Wall Street companies that gambled on families defaulting on their mortgages. This corporate welfare cost us taxpayers $700 billion.

Does this sound like a "better steward" of your hard earned money?

As a Representative in the U.S. Congress I will vote to cut taxes and cut spending.

Sincerely,

Isaac Hayes
