Today, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) made the following statement after General Motors announced that it has filed a proposed initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

"Today's filing is great news for the hard-working men and women in Michigan and American taxpayers across the country. Since emerging from bankruptcy last year, GM has put people back to work by adding shifts at its plants and posted profits for a second straight quarter. I look forward to GM's future success as the company continues to create new jobs and build the vehicles of the future here in Michigan."
