Issue Position

Every dollar government spends was earned by one of us first. Over the last five years, State spending has grown much faster than the population. I want to eliminate wasteful spending and reduce taxes. I support zero-based budgeting so that every dollar of spending is justified. I support performance based audits so we can verify where we are getting true value for our taxes and where we are not.

I believe taxes are already too high. On the Kenmore City Council I spearheaded the move to lower utility taxes by 2% and not to take the allowed 1% property tax increase for the past 2 years. As your Senator, I pledge to continue to support budgets that meet our state's real needs without raising your taxes.
