Our troops need to know we stand behind them. Setting arbitrary dates for pulling our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan only aids the terrorists and demoralizes our troops. Setting realistic goals for our involvement in these countries and removing troops when we achieve our stated goals is a much better policy. Helping Iraq and Afghanistan establish strong and self-sustaining democracies would go a long way toward bringing peace to the Middle East.
