Issue Position: Energy Independence

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

Energy independence is a critical solution in helping the economy and international policy. Developing nuclear power and increasing onshore and offshore drilling for oil and natural gas are huge job creators for the United States.

Expanding our own energy independence means we can rely less on foreign oil, whose revenue often ends up in the hands of radical terrorist organizations. Increasing our energy supply also means we can sell energy, thus creating a stronger competition that will reduce prices for consumers.
