Issue Position: A Strong National Defense

Issue Position

Contrary to what the Democrats might think, we must remain committed to having a strong national defense that can protect our freedom and liberty both here in America and abroad.

We cannot stick our head in the sand and ignore the fact that countries with unstable leadership like North Korea are expanding their nuclear capabilities, or that those in our own hemisphere, like Hugo Chavez in Venezuela truly wish us harm. And this does not even address the still active terrorists emanating from the Middle East.

Having graduated first in his class from West Point and being a decorated veteran who patrolled the Iron Curtain, Mike Pompeo has the experience and understanding of national defense policy that we need from our next Congressman. Mike knows that the threats faced by our nation are real, and that ignoring them won't make them go away. Having been in the military during Ronald Reagan's presidency, Mike knows that "Peace through Strength" does work.

In Congress, Mike Pompeo will use his background to ensure that Congress provides our servicemen and women every resource they need to protect our freedom. It's more important than ever that we do not waver from the commitment to ensure that our military has the tools to not only do the job, but to do it right.
