Issue Position

The training and education of a child is one of the most valuable components to our society as a whole. Parents who are involved in the education and training of their children provide their children with the opportunity to be a great contributor to their community. No one has more patience, love and passion to see a child grow and learn than their parent. A parent knows and understands their child. A parent will always spend time attending to the needs and styles of the learning curve of their children. What better way to be sure that a child is educated than by having one-on-one time every day with that child's parent, and teacher. It is for those reasons that I believe homeschoolers and their rights should be both respected and protected. After all, a parent who is dedicated enough take on such a critical and rewarding role in their child's life should be supported, not burdened by the government and its restrictions.
