Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on a new report released today from the Commonwealth Fund that estimates up to 13.7 million uninsured young adults could gain health coverage as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

"Young Americans have long struggled with health care costs and have been far more likely than older adults to be uninsured. Health reform will provide nearly 14 million young adults with affordable access to insurance, lower out-of-pocket costs, and protection from crushing medical debt.

"Republicans who continue to call for repeal of reform reject this progress and are standing firm with the insurance companies and for the status quo. We will not let the special interests and their allies in Congress turn back the clock on America's young people and affordable health care."
