South Carolina has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. But rather than focusing on growing the economy through private-sector job creation, liberal politicians are more focused on growing the size of government through endless regulation and higher taxes. That's inexcusable, and it sends the wrong message to unemployed workers looking for jobs. Businesses struggling to meet payroll need immediate tax relief and less interference from Washington. Boeing's plan to bring more than 3,800 jobs to Charleston shows that South Carolina can be an economic success story, but only if we have the tools to compete.
