Carter Urges Texans to Join America Speaking Out

House Republican Conference Secretary John Carter (TX-31) today urged all Americans and especially Texans to join the online campaign America Speaking Out, an effort to help the American people tell Congress their ideas for building a new policy agenda for America.

"While Americans have been speaking out, even yelling out, Washington has simply refused to listen," Carter said. "Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her majority have pursued a totally partisan agenda by completely ignoring not just the alternatives we have offered on every issue, but also the concerns of the American people. America is ready for a new agenda in Washington, and the nation deserves a Congress that acts to implement the will of the people instead of the dictates of the inside-the-beltway crowd."

In addition to direct access, a link to America Speaking Out is posted on Carter's Congressional Website for the duration of the program, which can also be followed on Twitter at @USASpeakingOut. Americans can visit the site to read more about the project, create a profile, and submit ideas of what they want to see Washington tackle this year.

"House Republicans are ready to offer the nation a new set of policy solutions, but rather than handing an agenda down from Washington, we will include the American people in building it," Carter said. The former Texas judge encouraged all Americans to make their voice heard through every communications vehicle available, including Email, Facebook, and YouTube.
