A BETTER WAY TO IMPROVE EDUCATION

Our nation's future is being determined daily in classrooms all across America and there is nothing more important we can do than to ensure the quality of our schools. Martha has spent a lot of time listening to parents and teachers and what she's learned from these conversations is that the best ideas on education come from places like Montgomery, Dothan, Enterprise, Greenville, Eufaula and Millbrook, not Washington, D.C. As a matter of fact, it is the Washington bureaucracy that often stifles creativity and innovation from the local level and Martha knows there is a better way.

Martha believes every student has an equal opportunity to receive a quality education in a safe environment. While significant progress has been made in reforming education, there still remain many difficulties confronting our school systems today. Congress must strengthen local control, cut federal red tape and provide the authority and flexibility in spending federal education dollars to put more resources back into the classroom.
