New Yorkers Tell Obama They "Need a Freakin' Job"

Statement

Date: May 13, 2010

After watching Democrats focus on almost everything except jobs for over a year, some unemployed Americans around Buffalo, NY recently put up a billboard asking President Obama to focus on jobs. Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement today as the President travels to Buffalo to give another speech on the economy.

"Americans want Washington to break down barriers to job creation," said Congressman Price. "On domestic policy, everything else comes second. Some unemployed yet enterprising folks in Buffalo even put up a billboard to get this point across. But instead of smoothing the path for private sector employers to hire and expand, Democrats have spent the last year and a half throwing up new barriers with their job-killing agenda. Under the guise of financial reform, they are pushing a permanent bailout bill that will reduce access to investment capital and credit for America's job creators. And ObamaCare actually contains incentives for small businesses not to hire more people. This is absolute madness.

"The Democrats' job-killing agenda is the wrong prescription for our economy. Flying the President around the country for three hour visits and short stump speeches will not get Americans back to work, and it will not make up for the last 16 months of bad policies. Just as we have from the start, Republicans will continue to produce better solutions that clear the path for investment and expansion in private sector jobs."
