Bryan is the great-grandson of a Pennsylvania coal miner who began work in the mines at the age of twelve, so he understands the hard work and sacrifice that previous generations have put into building this great country. That is why he will always fight to ensure that Social Security and Medicare are guaranteed for future generations of workers and retirees. America's workforce and its seniors should not be jeopardized by market fluctuations and must be protected from inflation. Workers should have opportunities and incentives to invest for their retirement, but not at the expense of the traditional Social Security system. We have an obligation to our hardworking men and women to honor the promise our nation has made to them. Bryan will work hard to keep that pledge and to protect all of the benefits that our nation's seniors have earned.
