Dodd Urges Connecticut Residents to Call 2-1-1 and Report Storm Damage

Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) released the following statement today expressing his frustration at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) decision to reject Connecticut's application for federal assistance for individuals and businesses affected by the storms in March and urging them to report any damages using the state's 2-1-1 information line. The information will be used for the state's appeal of FEMA's decision.

"The storms in March had a devastating affect on people's homes, businesses, and communities," said Dodd. "The federal governmental needs to recognize that and provide Connecticut with the assistance it needs to continue repair and recovery efforts. I strongly urge all Connecticut residents to use this hotline to report any damage from these storms, so the state can present a compelling case for appeal."

Data will be collected starting at 6 p.m. Thursday (April 29) through 6 p.m. Friday, May 14. The 2-1-1 Infoline will be fielding calls seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Report damage by dialing 211 or on-line at www.211ct.org. Click here for more information.
