Dr. Chris Cates (R-Blairsville) attended the Dalton Area League of Women Voters Forum, April 29, at Dalton State College. The forum was moderated by Calvin Means of WDNN and also recorded for WDNN Television; the event was a success for the Cates campaign. Dr. Cates is a candidate for Georgia's 9th District Congressional seat, which was vacated by Representative Nathan Deal, who resigned March 21st.

Dr. Cates is running in the May 11, Tuesday, Special Election--to be held in the 15 county 9th Congressional District area--to replace former Congressman Deal. Also, Dr. Cates is continuing his candidacy for this 9th District Congressional seat--for a two-year term--in the July 20th Republican Primary.

Dr. Cates is a recognized leader on healthcare issues and an expert on cost-effective healthcare delivery. He is an interventional cardiologist and the sitting vice president of a major national cardiology medical society. Dr. Cates has served the medical needs of the people of North Georgia for the past 21 years.

"I'm ready to say "no' to business as usual in Washington. We need to send a message and elect a non-career politician to Congress to represent the 9th district," said Cates. "I want to go to Washington and serve the people of this district. This is the biggest power-grab by the Federal Government in the history of our nation. And this is what one can expect from career-politicians!"
