With Congressman Cardoza's support, today the House of Representatives passed the Small Business and Infrastructure Act. H.R.4849 takes another step in creating jobs, spurring investment and fueling economic recovery.

The legislation uses a host of mechanisms to improve economic conditions.

Among them:

* An increase in the tax deduction for start-up expenditures to encourage the formation of new small businesses.

* Cracking down on foreign tax shelters.

* Providing Extensions of the Build America Bonds, making it more affordable for local governments to finance infrastructure projects.

* A 100-percent exclusion of small business capital gains to spur investment in small businesses.
"As I have continued to say, there won't be one single silver bullet that will right our economy. I am continuing to support every single piece of legislation that makes progress in assisting our country and especially my community," said Congressman Cardoza. "Economic relief for my constituents remains long overdue. It's time to stop blaming, it's time to stop playing political games and it's time to get this work done."
