Rohrabacher: SOTU Most Blatant Display Of Gall Ever Witnessed

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) has issued the following statement in reaction to President Obama's State of the Union speech:

"President Obama gave a highly political campaign style speech, full of contradictions and rhetoric. His claims of more transparency, earmark reform and bipartisanship sounded more like word confetti considering the actions of this administration over the last year were quite the contrary. Very few people, except the president apparently, can keep a straight face while calling for fiscal responsibility after presiding over $1.4 trillion in deficit spending, an unprecedented level. This is a deficit our children will be paying interest on forever.

"The president has spent almost $800 billion on a so called stimulus package, yet unemployment remains over 10% nationally and 12.4% in CA and almost 3 million jobs have been lost since the President Obama took office. This proves you cannot spend your way out of a recession, yet he continues to propose more spending. Furthermore, Obama tried to position himself as an adversary of big bankers and corporate greed after transferring hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to America's financial elite and Wall Street fat cats.

"The president used this speech to continue to finger point and shift blame rather than take responsibility for the failures of his own policies. This State of the Union speech was the most blatant display of pure gall I've ever witnessed."
