Congressman Lee Terry issued the following statement after the Commerce Department announced a 5.7 percent growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2009:

"Growth in our economy is definitely welcome news for our country," said Congressman Lee Terry. "Unfortunately unemployment remains high and job growth has not increased. Since the failed stimulus was signed into law almost a year ago 3 million people have been laid off. I am fully committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to enact legislation that will create jobs and increase incentives for businesses to grow and expand."
