Sen. Carper Comments On Attorney General Biden's Decision

Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) issued the following comment today in response to the announcement that Delaware's Attorney General Beau Biden will not seek the U.S. Senate seat in 2010.

Sen. Carper said: "Beau would have been a great candidate. Had he made that race, there is a good chance he would have won. But decisions like these are intensely personal. They involve a lot of discussion with one's spouse, children and family. Beau Biden likes being Attorney General and he has plenty that he still wants to accomplish in that role. Given the fact he missed a year while serving our country in Iraq, one can certainly understand. Beau is young, bright, hard-working and has a pretty good pedigree. He will have plenty of opportunities in the future."
