Gov. Schwarzenegger Issues Statement on California Becoming the First State to Require Timely Access for Medical Care

Statement

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement applauding the Department of Managed Health Care's regulations that make California the first state in the nation to shorten the time a patient has to wait to see a doctor:

"Timely access to comprehensive health care services is critical for both diagnosis and treatment, and these regulations will ensure nearly 21 million Californians can access physicians and other health services in a quick and appropriate manner. With the Department of Managed Health Care's new regulations to assure patients have continued timely access to health care, California continues to lead the nation in medical care. I applaud the Department's hard work to implement these regulations and improve health care access throughout our state."
