Johnson Votes To Approve Defense Appropriations

Press Release

Today the House passed, H.R. 3326, the annual Defense Appropriations bill. The bill provides a total funding level in FY 2010 of $508.2 billion in regular appropriations funding, a $19.2 billion increase over last year.

"Many people forget that we are fighting a two-front war in Afghanistan and Iraq. The brave men and women in our Armed Forces depend on the funding granted to them by the U.S. Congress. It is vital to give our military the resources they want, need and deserve in order to retain its status as the strongest military in the world," said Johnson (3rd Dist.--Texas), a 29-year Air Force veteran and Prisoner of War for nearly seven years.

Johnson represents portions of Dallas and Collin counties.
